HER Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah yesterday consented to attend the launching of the Happy Family Conference 2019 at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
The conference was jointly organised by the Women Graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam (PSW) and the Council of Women Brunei Darussalam (WBD), under the theme ‘A Peaceful and Prosperous Country’.
Also in attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, the Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event began with the singing of the national anthem, Allah Peliharakan Sultan, followed with welcoming remarks by PSW President and event chairperson Pengiran Hajah Zabaidah binti Pengiran Haji Kamaluddin, who noted that the conference was to identify and examine solutions to problems encountered by families across the nation.
Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah later graced the launching of the conference with a sabda.
State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned delivered his keynote speech on family harmony and happiness.
More than 300 participants comprising members of the public; government and private sector employees; and students from various higher educational institutions and secondary schools – attended the one-day conference.
The conference, which included forums on financial management, religious education and health, was intended to identify the characteristics of a happy family, while promoting more public awareness on the importance of reinforcing self-identity.
