Representatives from Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) in London and Laksamana College of Business’ partner from Kensington’s College of Business, who sponsored the prizes, were also present.
The competition aimed to promote UK education through the eyes of Brunei students, who are studying in the UK, and share their unique experience.
In his opening remarks, the British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam said, “The intention of this competition is to allow Brunei students in the UK to tell their story of their time in the UK through their own words and camera lens.
“This gives the most authentic testimony to the wonderful opportunities and experiences that they will be having – and we hope will encourage more students to join them in future years.”
Teo Zhi Perng shared in his photo description that he hoped to have a story to tell about how the many obstacles of being in the UK was nothing compared to the greatest memories one can forge from being there.
Many of the participants shared an equally heart-warming journey of finding their strengths and developing life skills as well as building relationships that would last a lifetime.
The winning prizes were an iPad mini and a GBP30 promo code voucher, while the prize of the first runner-up was a promo code voucher worth GBP150.
The UK shares a special long standing relationship with Brunei and this can be seen in the high value placed on the high standard of UK education.
About 200 Brunei students choose to study in the UK each year taking advantage of the UK’s unparalleled universities and colleges offering the highest standards of education in courses relevant for Brunei Vision 2035.
The British High Commission in Brunei Darussalam will continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Education on activities to promote UK education in Brunei.
