AL IDRUS FT put their friendly ties to one side after a resounding 12-1 win over neighbours Al Idrus SC in the round of 16 of the Al Idrus Football League Championship at the Royal Brunei Recreation Centre Field recently.
On the individual front, Al Idrus FT’s goal machine Muhd Nadzrin Abdullah will be locked in a battle for top scorer with Riwayat’s sharpshooter Azamain Haji Masri after the former’s five-goal heroics during the comprehensive win.
Al Idrus FT marched to the last eight of the competition while beaten opponents Al Idrus SC will turn their focus to a deeper progress in the FA Cup.
Shahruni bin Haji Bungsu bagged four goals with Ishak bin Ibrahim, Saiful Bahrin bin Haji Abd Hamid and Yahya bin Haji Mohd Zain all helping themselves to a goal each.
Soffriana bin Haji Masri scored a lone consolation for Al Idrus SC in the 75th minute.
Al Idrus FT and Al Idrus SC will be back in action in the quarterfinals of the Al Idrus FA Cup next week against TJ FT and ITF, respectively.
Both Al Idrus teams are on course of a possible meeting in the final if they come out from their last eight ties unscathed.
