DOA Kesyukuran ceremonies and mass prayers were held across the country yesterday evening, on the occasion of Brunei Darussalam’s 35th National Day.
In the Belait District, the main focus was the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, where the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin was the guest of honour.
Also present were the Acting Belait District Officer Ridzuan bin Haji Ahmad, as well as senior officers from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs; mukim penghulus and village heads; and heads of government departments in the Belait District.
The ceremony commenced with a mass Maghrib prayer led by Mosque Affairs Officer at the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque Imam Akup bin Haji Lamat, who also led the Sunnat Hajat prayer and a mass recitation of Surah Yaasiin.
The Doa Kesyukuran was then read by the Head Religious Officer in the Belait District Haji Asminan bin Haji Chuchu.
The call to the Isyak prayer was performed by the Imam of Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque Haji Mohd Alias bin Bakar, which was then followed with mass Isyak prayer led by Imam Akup.
