THE closing ceremony and certificate presentation of the Basic Football Refereeing Course for the year 2019 was held at the Lecture Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium yesterday.
National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Referees Executive Committee member Pengiran Haji Aliuddin bin Pengiran Haji Tajuddin was the guest of honour.
NFABD Acting Secretary General Pengiran Anak Mohd Sofian bin Pengiran Anak Haji Ibrahim was also present.
Head of NFABD Referees Department Awang Haji Hamidon bin Haji Mohd Zin said that more than 40 participants attended the course held every Fridays and Sundays for five days beginning February 15.
He hoped participants will make use of their knowledge and not only be kept in their books.
He added, “I also hope that the commitment by every participant will not end here.”
Haji Hamidon encouraged the participants to continue providing a good service to raise the level of football and practice a quality standard of refereeing towards enhancing the development of football in the country.
“Take advantage of the opportunities that will be provided later because doors to improve the position of refereeing will open.”
Mohammad Hamiz bin Zharif, a participant of the course said, “We already have basic knowledge as players but the refereeing course is more extensive. The course will not only help us in refereeing but will also help when we play.”
The Head of Referees Department expressed his gratitude to the course facilitators Degat Chandau and Mohd Yusof Zaki bin Haji Serudin.
