‘Muzakarah’ session for Haj pilgrim course presenters concludes

THE Haj Management Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) through the Haj and Umrah Guidance Section held a closing ceremony to conclude the Muzakarah session for Haj pilgrim course presenters at the Multaqa Hall of MoRA yesterday.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa led by Assistant Religious Officer at the Haj Management Department Haji Zilani bin Haji Bungsu and welcoming remarks by Acting Director of Haj Management Department Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohamad and a speech by the guest of honour Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof.

In his speech, the Permanent Secretary stressed on the needs for course facilitators to be more sensitive and ready to share latest updates with the intending Haj pilgrims.

The Muzakarah session featured the presentation of the premier working paper on Menggapai Darjat Haji Mabrur: Cabaran Menjaga Dan Mengekalkannya by Assistant Professor at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Dr Haji Hambali bin Haji Jaili.

The briefing on Haj Management was delivered by Haji Zilani.

Yesterday’s event also saw the presentation of first working papers on  Beberapa Isu  Hukum Dalam Perlaksanaan Ibadat Haji – Tawaf Wada, Sujud Tilawah dan Doa Qunut by Buhuth officers at the State Mufti’s Office, Prime Minister’s Office, Pengiran Haji Zamiri bin Pengiran Haji Jamaludin and Haji Martino @ Abdul Azim bin Haji Ahmad.

The Muzakarah session hoped to enable the course facilitators to coordinate the information on the dos and don’ts related to Haj, Umrah and Ziarah, increase the effectiveness of Haj guidance to intending Haj pilgrims and serves to discuss on issues surfaced during Haj pilgrimage last year.

At the same time it also served to give a picture on the current situation in the holy land of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Arafah and Mina to course facilitators and the facilities and amenities provided, expectations faced by intending Haj pilgrims while in the holy city, relevant policies and regulations of the Saudi Arabia Government that must be observed.

It was also aimed at sharing the Haj knowledge among officers and students at higher learning institutions and Youth Da’ie religious programme under MoRA who have not performed Haj pilgrimage.

A total of 112 participants attended yesterday’s session comprising course facilitators, supervising teachers at religious schools, officers from the Islamic Studies Department as well as officers from Mosque Affairs Department, Islamic Da’wah Centre, Brunei Islamic Religious Council, Religious Department of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, UNISSA, Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School, medical officers, Haj operators officers and Youth Da’ie Religious programme.

Directors and senior officers at MoRA and representatives of Haj and Umrah travel operators were also present.
