School, underprivileged receive donations

THE Association of Wives of Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries along with its former members made a courtesy visit to the Nakhoda Abdul Rashid Primary School in Kampong Menunggol yesterday.

Led by Chairperson II of the association Datin Paduka Hajah Jahrah binti Haji Mohamad, the spouse of the Minister of Home Affairs, the group was welcomed by the school Headmaster Haji Suazmie bin Haji Zukifli.

The visit saw the donation of a water filter for the students’ convenience, which is an initiative of the Chairperson II.

Khaliqah binti Haji Ahmad who scored 5As last year was presented with a prize.

The headmaster expressed gratitude for the group’s contributions and for visiting the school.

The visitors mingled with students, parents, teachers and the school’s administrative staff as well as villagers who were present to showcase village products.

A team from McDonald’s Brunei contributed food, beverages and goodie bags for the students during the event.

The group also toured the school before heading to Village Head of Kampong Menunggol Yusup bin Muhammad to present donations to the underprivileged.

Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu Yang Berhormat Naim bin Haji Kamis was also present.

The visitors also toured the village.
