HIGH Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam Air Vice Marshal (Rtd) Mahmud Hussain yesterday highlighted the strong relationship between Brunei and Bangladesh through the growth of bilateral relations including arts, culture, education, defence training as well as employment of skilled workers.
He made these comments at a dinner reception hosted by the Bangladesh High Commission at The Empire Hotel & Country Club’s Indera Samudra Grand Hall in Jerudong.
The event was held in conjunction with Bangladesh’s 49th Independence and National Day.
The guest of honour, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, was welcomed by the Bangladesh High Commissioner.
Members of foreign Diplomatic Corps, local dignitaries, senior government officials and guests were also present.
The event proceeded with a cake-cutting ceremony and the presentation of a token of appreciation by the high commissioner to the guest of honour followed by a cultural performance by a Bangladeshi artiste.
