Pakistan Acting High Commissioner visits CCC BSB

ACTING High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam Ahmed Ali Sirohey visited the Chinese Chambers of Commerce Bandar Seri Begawan (CCC BSB) yesterday.

President of the CCC BSB Malcolm Lim Tiong Han @ Lim Peh Beng and members welcomed the Pakistan Acting High Commissioner. The CCC BSB President delivered a brief introduction of the CCC BSB and its journey since its establishment in 1946.

The CCC BSB president also shared that since its establishment, this is the first visit of any representative from Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam.

Malcolm Lim invited the Pakistan High Commission to participate in the upcoming Asia expo, which will be held on November 27 to December 1, under the auspices of CCC BSB.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Acting High Commissioner thanked Malcolm Lim for the warm welcome and he appreciated the organisation’s efforts as an entity to promote business in Brunei Darussalam throughout the last 72 years.

He apprised the CCC BSB president and its members about the investment potential in Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan is an emerging investment and tourist destination. Pakistan has opened up for investors and tourists, and cited a new visa-on-arrival policy for citizens of Brunei in this regard.

He elaborated that Pakistan is exporting rice, fruits, cement, dates, surgical instruments, sports, textile, seafood, meat, construction material, luxury furniture, IT products, defence equipment and home appliances.

Ahmed Ali Sirohey also informed the CCC BSB about the upcoming Catalogue Show, which will be held in final week of April, and the visit of a delegation from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in June 2019.

He also shared about various trade fairs held annually in Pakistan and elaborated opportunities which can be availed in all sectors.

Ahmed Ali Sirohey highlighted the opportunities of foreign direct investment for Chinese investors in Pakistan in the wake of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.
