WITH the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) have begun to take centre stage in conversations and discussions all around the world, and hence it is worth going “back to basics” and strengthening an organisation’s foundations.
Speaking at the ‘HR Symposium: Back to Basics’ event at The Rizqun International Hotel yesterday, Acting Assistant Managing Director of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) and Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Centre For Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM)
Hajah Sufinah binti Haji Sahat added that this is important so that “we will be ready for tomorrow’s challenges, and such foundation is part of CIBFM’s human resources management strategies”.
She said, “In recognising the importance of this foundation, CIBFM organised the HR Forum last year, where we discussed leadership and its role in driving performance.
“Inspired by the success of that event, CIBFM and SMR HR Group Malaysia came together to gather 14 reputable speakers from both local and international organisations with their own unique experiences and achievements in the field.
“To complement this event, we are also conducting a three-day Accredited Competency Professional Masterclass that begins today.
“This masterclass programme aims to provide an opportunity for Brunei to have more qualified human resources professionals with knowledge and expertise that meet international benchmarks.”
Hajah Sufinah added that the CIBFM will continue to provide quality programmes and insightful events in keeping with its mission of playing a key role to foster human capital development in the areas of Islamic Finance, Economics and Leadership, noting that they are working with international institutions to provide an accessible platform for international qualifications and examinations.
“Last year, we were appointed by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) as their official examination centre in Brunei Darussalam, and this year we will be bringing in programmes and examinations from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development as well as the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply,” she said.
