QURANIC Beats Club Universiti Teknologi Brunei (Qbeats UTB) organised a motivational talk entitled ‘That One Journey’ at Lecture Theatre 1, Library Complex, UTB, in conjunction with the celebration of Israk Mikraj this year.
Muhammad Yadiy bin Haji Mat Yassin, a PhD in Arabic Language from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali and a Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) certified Da’ie, presented the story of Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) miraculous journey throughout the night.
He highlighted the idea of observing the surroundings to obtain a greater understanding of what is happening and learn about the struggles and hardships experienced by other people.
“These will teach us to not be selfish or conceited,” he said.
Muhammad Yadiy said that Allah the Almighty is always near as stated in Surah Qaf Verse 16, “…We are closer to him than (his) jugular vein.”
The talk was attended by 39 participants from club members, UTB students and the public.
