THE First Meeting of the Executive Administrative Committee for the 73rd birthday Celebrations of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for the Brunei-Muara District, was held at the Muhibbah Hall of the Brunei-Muara District Office yesterday.
The meeting was chaired by Brunei-Muara District Officer Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, who said that it was intended to formulate plans and arrangements for the celebrations.
He then cited the speech of Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong as Chairman of the National and Executive Administrative Committee for His Majesty’s 73rd birthday celebration, where the minister urged committee members at all levels to provide their proposals, commitment and cooperation, to ensure the smooth running of the festive period.
The Brunei-Muara District Officer said that festive events in public venues would need prior authorisation and compliance with the set requirements, to prevent any untoward incidents.
The meeting also discussed the dissolution of last year’s Royal Birthday Celebration Executive Committee.
