MEMBERS of the public can lend a helping hand to SMARTER Brunei (Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources) by donating empty plastic bottles as well as clothing, electrical appliances, household furniture and toys that can be resold at the ‘Recycle Reuse Reach-Out with SMARTER Brunei’, a collaborative campaign organised by the Centre for Student Development and Innovation (CSDI) of Politeknik Brunei and Maybank Brunei Berhad.
The initiative, which is organised for the Maybank Global Corporate Responsibility Day activities in Brunei, will start collecting the donated items to be reused, repurposed and resold from today until August 18. Members of the public can donate the items at Maybank and Politeknik Brunei at the collection points during office hours.
The donated items will be collected and sorted out then will be sold at the Maybank Outreach to SMARTER Garage Sale event on August 20-21 at the parking lot of Jalan Bendahara in the capital, while the one-litre plastic water bottles will be repurposed as biscuit containers by SMARTER’s students.
