COVID-19: No new case for 39 days in a row

Brunei Darussalam continued its streak of containing COVID-19 with no new cases reported in the country yesterday, keeping the tally at 141.

Currently, 53 individuals are undergoing quarantine in accordance to the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204) while 2,770 individuals completed their quarantine and are in stable condition.

The COVID-19 updates in the country were provided by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the daily press conference at the Ministry of Health yesterday.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham said, “Alhamdulillah with the grace of Allah the Almighty, there is no new COVID-19 infection case in the country and so the number of COVID-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141, while the total number of recovered cases is 138.”

The minister said, “One case is being treated at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) who is still in a critical condition and requires heart-lung machine (ECMO) as well as respiratory assistance. Let us pray together for the patient to be granted full recovery by Allah
the Almighty.”

Some 245 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the last 24 hours taking the number of laboratory tests conducted since January to 25,078.

In its breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there were 110 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 25 in the Belait District and six in the
Tutong District.
