Tuition and music schools will be allowed to operate in a class of no more than five students at a time, an improvement from the previous of one-on-one basis as part of the Level 2 of the de-escalation plan in the country.

The announcement was made by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at a press conference yesterday.

The minister reminded visitors to the premises to comply with the directives and guidelines of social distancing issued by the government and those with signs of infection to not attend classes.

He said, “The Ministry of Health (MoH) urges the public to comply with all regulations and directives related to the social distancing measures.

Any individual found violating or disobeying orders will be charged under the Infectious Diseases Act (Section 204) which carries a fine of up to BND10,000 or imprisonment of up to six months or both. The MoH will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who does not comply with the directives issued,” the minister added.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham also said that the MoH will continue to monitor the situation of the outbreak at national as well as regional and global levels and carry out ongoing risk assessments to consider further mitigation measures.

He continued, “If the outbreak becomes alarming, the MoH will not hesitate to tighten social distancing measures to control the outbreak. The ministry will notify the public of any changes to this situation, if necessary, from time to time.”
