Firefighters from Beribi Fire Station rushed to Gadong after an emergency call of a vehicle on fire was received at 11.11am yesterday.
The fire was extinguished by the driver using a bottle of mineral water before the firefighters arrived. The cause of the damage is under investigation.
The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) reminded motorists on the dangers of vehicle modifications that could be a fire risk.
Members of the public are urged to learn about car fire safety and ensure modifications to a vehicle’s wiring system are conducted by accredited workshops.
The public is also advised to keep a dry chemical powder fire extinguisher in their cars and to conduct regular checks for cars aged over seven years.
