Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony for the YSHHB Sultan’s Scholar 2020-2021 scholarship award at the Multipurpose Hall of the Yayasan Complex Building in Bandar Seri Begawan on Monday.
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof in his capacity as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of YSHHB was the guest of honour.
The MoU Signing Ceremony for the recipients of the YSHHB Sultan’s Scholar Award 2020/2021 is in continuity of the YSHHB Sultan’s Scholar 2020-2021 scholarship award ceremony held at Istana Nurul Iman earlier that day.
Three students were awarded scholarship along with one Sultan’s Scholar 2016-2017 scholarship award recipient furthering her study, were present during the MoU signing.
The recipients are Awangku Muhammad Asyraff Haziq Iman bin Pengiran Asmali, Siti Aisyah binti Salim, A’isyah binti Muhamad Yusop and Kadrina Abdul Latif binti Abdullah.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Mosque Affairs Officer Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sallehuddin. It was followed by the MoU signing ceremony by the four recipients along with two guarantors comprising parents or close relatives.
Representing YSHHB at the signing ceremony were Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development (MoD) Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak in her capacity as the Acting Managing Director of YSHHB and Assistant Managing Director of YSHHB Haji Puasa bin Haji Jumat.
A recitation of Doa Selamat concluded the event.
YSHHB Board of Directors, YSHHB Sultan’s Scholar Award Steering Committee, YSHHB Sultan’s Scholar Working Committee, parents and family members of the recipients were also present.
