His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, yesterday received in audience outgoing Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud and newly appointed Commander of RBAF Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat.
Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan handed over his duties to the newly appointed Commander of the RBAF Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah on September 1 at a ceremony at Bolkiah Garrison.
Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan was the 10th Commander of the RBAF from January 31, 2018 until September 1.
During his tenure, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam conferred him the Darjah Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang Yang Amat Gemilang Darjah Pertama (DPKT).
Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah was promoted to Major General on September 1.
Prior to his appointment as the 11th Commander of the RBAF, he held several key posts including the 14th Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force from August 15, 2018 to August 28, 2020 the Joint Force Commander of the RBAF and Chief of Staff (COS) of the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ).
The audience ceremony was held at Qashr Al-Meezaan.
