Some 174 rank-and-file police personnel were awarded with the Police Long Service Medals (PKLP) during a ceremony at the Police Headquarters in Jalan Gadong yesterday.
Guest of honour, Commissioner of Police Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohammad Irwan bin Haji Hambali presented the medals.
According to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), the medals were awarded in recognition of their services and as appreciation from the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for public servants who have served for 20 years or more.
Apart from a clean service record, the recognition is also hoped to enhance the recipients’ motivation in serving the government and the country.
Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police ACP Haji Mohammed Fadzillah bin Haji Ismail, directors, deputy directors and senior officers of the RBPF were also present.
