Brunei Darussalam marked nine days without new COVID-19 cases yesterday, keeping the national tally of confirmed cases at 145.
One active case is currently receiving treatment at the National Isolation Centre (NIC).
The Ministry of Health (MoH) has taken 53 samples for SARS-CoV-2 virus testing in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of tests carried out since January to 54,356.
The latest information of the COVID-19 developments in the country was shared by the MoH in its daily statement yesterday.
The ministry added that 405 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after arriving from abroad.
Meanwhile, 5,547 individuals have completed the self-isolation at monitoring centres since March.
MoH reiterated that individuals wanting a SARS-CoV-2 swab test, especially for the purpose of travelling abroad, must do it three to five days before their flight date – subject to the terms and conditions of the country that the traveller is heading to. The results of the swab test will take time and the ministry sought the public’s patience while waiting for the test results.
Swab tests for overseas travel can be carried out at the Berakas Health Centre and the Sports Complex of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
At the Berakas Health Centre, the swab tests are available from 8am-noon and 2pm-4pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday.
On Friday, Sunday and public holidays, the tests are available between 2pm and 5.30pm.
Testings at the Sports Complex of the RIPAS Hospital are conducted from 7am-10pm daily, except on public holidays.
In its breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there have been 112 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 27 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
