Over 100 participants gathered at Kampong Sungai Teraban Mosque yesterday for the Wira Fajar programme jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the Mosque Affairs Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Minda Youth Movement.
Joining the participants for the Subuh prayer was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, who was welcomed on arrival by programme chairman and Vice President of the Minda Youth Movement Haji Abdul Afiq bin Zainuddin.
Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the MCYS Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud and Belait District Officer Ramlee bin Haji Jamudin, as well as mukim penghulus, village heads, and mukim and village consultative council members from the surrounding areas of Kampong Sungai Teraban were also present.
Following the Subuh prayer led by Head Imam of the Kampong Sungai Teraban Mosque Mohd Hilmi bin Yakop, the attendees heard a Tazkirah on ‘The Meaning of Volunteerism’ (Erti Sukarelawan), delivered by an officer from the Youth and Media Development Unit at the Ash-Shaliheen Mosque.
The programme then continued with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Kahfi led by the head imam, followed by the Sunnat Doha prayer performed in congregation.
Later, the minister joined the youth participants for a cleaning campaign on the mosque premises.
This is the sixth time the programme has been held this year, as part of a nationwide project that aims to encourage youth attendance for congregational Subuh prayer and mosque-based activities.
