Students feted at graduation ceremonies

Chung Ching Middle School held a graduation ceremony for its Years 6 and 11 students at its main multi-purpose hall in Seria on November 26.

Executive Chairman of the school’s Board of Directors Chai Youk Fatt and Chairman Chin Kim Min were the guests of honour.

Other members of Board of Directors, teachers and staff of the school, as well as parents and guardians of the students were also present.

Principal Sim Jeng Siang congratulated the graduating students and hoped that the knowledge and values that they had gained through the years will continue to guide them as they further their studies.

The event also saw speeches from student representatives in Malay, English and Chinese languages thanking teachers, staff and parents.

The guest of honour along with other members of Board of Directors presented awards and certificates to students, including Academic Excellence, Awards for Prefects, Library Assistants, and Best Reader.

Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) School

The Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) School held a mini convocation for its Kindergarten 3 pupils at its multi-purpose hall in Kampong Sungai Akar recently.

Deputy Secretary General of PGGMB Pengiran Haji Hamzah bin Pengiran Haji Mohamad as the guest of honour presented certificates to the students.

The programme commenced with a processional march by the graduating students, followed by the singing of the national anthem and the school’s song Semangat Guru.

It continued with the recitations of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa by Mohd Afif Ishak bin Mohd Salim, a student from Year 5 Superior.

Principal Haji Ali @ Mustapha bin Haji Talip delivered a welcoming speech during which he congratulated the students and thanked parents and teachers for their support especially during the shift to online learning and the preparation of home learning package for students amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

He outlined additional curricula for next year, including daily prayers recitation, reading programmes to improve literacy, the use of educational toys with the mobile library concept and the establishment of a reading corner in each classroom.

Bakti Dewa School Jerudong

Ninety-six students of Bakti Dewa School Jerudong were feted during a graduation and award ceremony at the school’s hall recently.

Bakti Dewa School Principal Pengiran Anak Hajah Hafeezah Syukrina binti Pengiran Anak Haji Hassanuddin Al- Hajj was the guest of honour.

The event saw a presentation of Dewa Ahmad Award by the school’s founder Pengiran Hajah Mariam binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad to Year 6 students who excelled academically since kindergarten.

The school’s other branches in Berakas and Tutong District also held a similar ceremony on November 25 and 26.
