Haifa Firzanah binti Laura Affiezan @ Mohd Azizan won first place in Category A while Maisarah Syurah binti Mohammad Sa’adon and Nur Fatin ‘Aqilah binti Zulhazmi took second and third places in the Local Khat Art Competition 2021 held in conjunction with Israk Mikraj celebration organised by the Islamic Calligraphy and Arts Study Centre, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (PPKKI-YSHHB) .
For Category B, Awangku Md ‘Ashim ‘Afiif bin Pengiran Haji Md Zin was in first place while Abdul Fattah Azizi bin Kamarudjaman and Ahmad Danish Hakimi bin Shufiady were first and second runner-ups.
Muhammad Azizi bin Haji Md Jamil won first place in Category C while Muizzuddin bin Mohammad and Md Aidil Ikhwan bin Md Ismadi won second and third spots.
A prize presentation concluded the competition held at the Yayasan main office in Jalan Perdana Menteri yesterday.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, member of the Board of Directors of Yayasan and Chairperson of the Governance Board of PPKKI Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar was the guest of honour.
Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development, Acting Managing Director of Yayasan and Deputy Chairperson for Governance Board of PPKKI Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak was also present.
Forty-three participants took part in the competition aimed at identifying individuals with talent in calligraphy.
