AS PART of its ongoing campaign to provide healthy and well-balanced meals for everyone, The Energy Kitchen has become the official sponsor to Plus+ Magazine’s anniversary charity run, which is being held on September 18, in conjunction with World Heart Day.
Wu Chun, the owner of The Energy Kitchen, said in a press statement: “Cardiovascular disease is the top killer disease in the country. A healthy community means a healthy nation, and The Energy Kitchen is collaborating with the Gleneagles JPMC Cardiac Centre to create three new and tasty ‘Heart Hearty’ dishes. We hope to improve people’s quality of lives by championing the benefits of regular physical activity, correct nutrition and a positive mental attitude.”
All of the three new menus are prepared with minimal amounts of salt and oil, together with the right balance of fruit, vegetables and lean meats.
The first dish is a zucchini, carrot and meatball dish in place of the usual spaghetti, meatballs, sauce and cheese.
The second is a Herb-and-Spiced Grilled Chicken Breast which comes with a fresh salad of purple cabbage, seeds, corn and a balsamic reduction.
And the third ‘hearty meal’ is a Parchment-Wrapped Salmon Fillet, baked with cauliflower florets, sweet potatoes, whole asparagus and fresh dill.
Meanwhile, The Energy Kitchen’s daily meal plans are diabetic-friendly and perfect for busy people on the go.
They are also proving to be popular for the health-conscious, who wish to cut down on their carb intake.
