THE Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BDNAB) held a Korban ceremony to mark Hari Raya Aidiladha at the Darul Ifrah Hall, Pusat Bahagia Brunei-Muara in Kampong Pulaie yesterday.
The guest of honour was the Acting Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Roselan bin Haji Mohamad Daud.
The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Muhd Hazri bin Mohd Hailie.
The event continued with welcoming remarks from the President of BDNAB, Muhammad Jamary bin Danggat, and a recitation of verses from the Al-Quran by the Chairperson of the BDNAB Education Unit, Dayangku Soffiezah binti Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
A speaker from the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ustaz Haji Mail bin Besar also presented a talk on the importance of the practice of Korban.

The ceremony continued with the distribution of korban meat by the guest of honour to members of the association and selected groups.
A buffalo was sacrificed for the distribution of meat.
The ceremony was held to give the opportunity to association members to experience Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations and to strengthen ties between them.
Also present were officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Community Developent Department (JAPEM), Pusat Bahagia and representatives from Standard Chartered Bank, Max V Management, Jerudong Park Medical Centre and Ibrahim Davidson Law Firm.
