THE Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce in Brunei Darussalam yesterday donated B$2,000 to Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) in a ceremony held at The Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.
The donation was handed over by Mohammed Abdul Hye, the Bangladesh High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, to Haji Brahim bin Haji Ismail, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DANA.
Present at event were Mohammad Liakat Ali, President of the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce, as well as members of the chamber committee.
Also present were officers from the High Commission and DANA.
According to Mohammad Liakat Ali, this is the first time the chamber organised such event and hope it will continue in the future.
He said the donation was raised during the recent Bangladesh Cultural Performances. Currently, the chamber has 88 members.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Abdul Hye in his speech, expressed his gratitude to the chamber for their contribution.
The CEO of DANA thanked the chamber of its contribution.
