GO for a dream holiday in the Temburong District aka ‘The Green Jewel of Brunei’ with exclusive end-of-year tour packages suited for new thrill seekers and experienced adventurers alike.
Brunei Tourism, under the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT), recently combined the best of Temburong into eight tour packages called ‘Temburong Holiday Destination Packages’, operated by local tour agents with a world-class service.
Members of the media and local bloggers were recently invited by Brunei Tourism for a retreat to the natural wonders of Temburong with a three-day two-night’s stay available in the package.
The Borneo Bulletin had the opportunity to take part in a new kind of travel experience, Glamping – defined as glamorous camping – with the ‘Sumbiling Ulu Special’ operated by the Sumbiling Eco Village and Ulu Ulu Resort.
At Sumbiling, visitors can either swim or simply enjoy the tranquility of the rainforest with the local Iban community. Among the activities hosted by the locals at Sumbiling includes a chance to use the traditional ‘Blow Pipe’; ‘Gulintangan’, a traditional instrument; learn the local Iban dance as well as try their hand at stone painting.
For those who prefer to relax the mind, body and soul while admiring the lush green landscapes, one can take a dip in the largest outdoor swimming pool at the nearby river or just relax on a hammock while enjoying the peace and serenity of the village.
The package also includes a one-night stay at the equally secluded Ulu Ulu Resort which is surrounded by the ancient forest of the Ulu Temburong National Park.

Guests can also brave the flight of stairs containing 800 steps to the grand ’Canopy Walk’ where a view of the pristine forests of Brunei awaits.
Other unique packages to choose from include the Camp Site experience at Freme Rainforest Lodge and AZ Back to Nature, Discover Nature at Ulu Ulu Resort and Stoneville Hotel, cultural experience at Sumbiling Eco Village and Iban Longhouse, fun in Temburong at Sumbiling Eco Village and Stoneville Hotel, expedition Temburong at Ulu Ulu Resort and Freme Rainforest Lodge, Temburong Splendor at Stoneville Hotel and Freme Rainforest Lodge as well as the tropical retreat at Ulu Ulu Resort and Trandie Marina Resorts.
