THE Fiqh Al-Usrah Research Centre at the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) recently conducted a seminar entitled ‘Menuju Keluarga Sakinah Mawaddah Warahmah’ (Achieving a Harmonious, Caring and Loving Family) at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong.
About 170 participants of a premarital course attended the talk, which was jointly organised by the Muslimah Affairs Division of the Mosque Affairs Department and Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah.
The event’s guest of honour was Hajah Salwana binti Haji Husin, the wife of the Acting Ra’es of KUPU SB.
The programme began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Mohd Noow, Head of the Guidance and Training Division, Mosque Affairs Department.
This was followed by a welcoming speech from Hajah Aisyah Radhiah binti Haji Gani, Director of the Fiqh Al-Usrah Research Centre, in her capacity as the event’s chairperson.
The talk itself was moderated by Dayangku Katijah binti Pengiran Sulaiman, an assistant lecturer at KUPU SB, while the panellists comprised of Hajah Raneya Fatihah binti Haji Japar, another assistant lecturer of KUPU SB; Haji Saharuddin bin Haji Patra, Acting Assistant Director at the Syariah Affairs Department, and Haji Ali Yusri bin Haji Abdul Ghafor, Acting Head of the Special Education Unit, Ministry of Education.
The seminar was intended to invite discussions on various family issues, combined with a mutual sharing of experiences and some parenting tips based on Islamic teachings.
