AS PART of its ongoing efforts to aid the community of Brunei Darussalam, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) yesterday conducted a donation ceremony to distribute school equipment and necessities for 409 students from 127 underprivileged families, at the Multipurpose Hall of the Yayasan Complex in Bandar Seri Begawan.
In attendance to present the donations was Haji Brahim bin Haji Ismail, the Managing Director of Yayasan.
The donations were in the form of a $60 coupon which can be used to buy school books and equipment, as well as exercise books and 20 notebooks published by Yayasan for each student.
The donations showed the care and support of Yayasan in caring for the educational affairs of disadvantaged students, in hopes that it will lessen the burden of spending for the families in preparing school necessities for their children.

The total amount presented yesterday amounted to B$33,388, which was received by parents and guardians of the children.
It is hoped that the donation will be fully utilised by the students and encourages them to continue and improve in their educational attainment.
