THE Acting Minister of Education, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, hosted a luncheon at the Tarindak Restaurant yesterday, for a delegation from the Kelantan branch of the Association of Former Officers of the Malaysian Education Service, led by Haji Zainal bin Othman.
Earlier, the group made a visit to the Rimba II Secondary School, where they were welcomed by Nadia Lee Siew Hoon binti Abdullah, the Acting Director-General of Education.
They were also given a briefing on the National Education System for the 21st Century (SPN 21) by Pengiran Hajah Mashayu binti Pengiran Haji Yusof, the Head of the SPN 21 Unit at the Ministry of Education.
The association members were also briefed on 21st Century educational methods at the Rimba II Secondary School, by the acting principal, after which they were given a tour of the ‘21st Century Teaching and Learning Space’ in the school’s Practice and Innovation Block.
The 13-member delegation was recently on a goodwill visit to the Federal Territory of Labuan and Brunei Darussalam from December 7-11.
The delegation arrived in Brunei Darussalam on Friday and will be leaving today.
During their three-day stay in the country, the group paid courtesy calls to the Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, the Ministry of Education and the Brunei Malay Teachers’ Association (PGGMB). They also toured several historical sites and places of interest.
Also present at yesterday’s luncheon were Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, the Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education; Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, the Acting Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education, the Acting Director-General of Education; and several senior officials from the Ministry of Education.
