MUHD Zharfan bin Haji Ahmad from the Kampong Batu Marang Mosque emerged as the champion of the 2nd Friday Sermon Reading Competition which was held in conjunction with the final term school holidays.
Attending as the guest of honour to present the prizes and certificates of the winners was Haji Harun bin Haji Junid, the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Muhd Raffi bin Duming from the RPN Lambak Kanan Mosque and Khairul Musawwir bin Haji Muhd Daud from the Kampong Beribi Mosque came in second and third place, respectively.
The competition saw 12 mosque youth members nationwide vying for the top prize in the competition organised by the Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque Takmir Committee.
It was aimed at strengthening the bond among mosque youth members.
