BRUNEI Darussalam welcomed a large group of Indonesian visitors yesterday who were on a 4WD tour group, comprising families of Pajero Sports owners.
Upon entering Brunei through Sungai Tujoh, their first destination was in Tutong, where they were welcomed at the house of the President of Tutong District 4WD Association.
The tour programme is a three-country crossing tour called ‘Borneo Escape’ organised by Java Adventure Indonesia, an outdoor event management in the field of off-road and travel under the support of the Indonesia Off-road Federation (IOP).
The tour group started their journey on December 25 and the tour will end on January 3. The participants will be in Brunei on December 28 and 29.
At Sungai Tujoh, the Indonesian delegation comprising 16 Pajero Sports vehicles with 65 participants were greeted on arrival by 12 4WD vehicles comprising 25 participants from Brunei Darussalam.
The Brunei group then accompanied the Indonesian group to the Tutong District.
In the Tutong District, the participants were welcomed by Nurul Qomar, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam and Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, the Tutong District Officer.
The welcoming ceremony was held at the Mandian Puteri Gallery in Kg Tanjong Maya, which is the house of the President of Tutong District 4WD Association, Sha’ari bin Haji Zunaidi.
The delegation visited the capital in the evening.
