SEVENTY-NINE alumni and trainers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) yesterday enjoyed a stroll down memory lane, gathering under one roof for the first time after decades.

The group, from the RBAF ’56 intake, caught up with each other at De’Layar Seafood Restaurant in Jalan Gadong, with Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof as guest of honour.

Also in attendance was Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar.

Themed ‘Jejak Kasih,’ the event reaffirmed the many years of friendship and fellowship between the alumni.

Pengiran Chuchu bin Pengiran Matahir, chairman of the event, explained the reunion was held in hopes of reconnecting intake members, and that similar events are being planned for the near future.

The reunion began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Tahlil, followed by speeches from attendees reminiscing on the old days.
