OVER 800 family members of the Haji Duraman bin Kula, Sainah binti Haji Talip and Gading binti Amba (DSG) lineage gathered for the first time yesterday at the Hadfa Garden in Rimba, Gadong.
The first gathering of ‘Warisan DSG’ (the DSG lineage) was officiated by a member of its first generation, Haji Abdul Timbul bin Haji Duraman, accompanied by the event’s chairman, Hajah Halus binti Haji Karim, from the second generation.
In an interview, the secretary of the event, Jaffary bin Haji Abdul Timbul, shared with the Bulletin that all five generations of the DSG lineage gathered for the event with the aim of strengthening relations among them.
“Through this event, we aimed to bring all of our family members together… as we have more than 1,000 family members, including those who had passed away,” he said.

Ustaz Haji Mail bin Haji Basar from the Islamic Da’wah Centre delivering a motivational lecture
The event featured a motivational lecture delivered by Ustaz Haji Mail bin Haji Basar, an invited speaker from the Islamic Da’wah Centre, which aimed to motivate the current generation to respect their elders.
Also held during the gathering was the presentation of souvenirs to the heads of the family and its senior citizens. Furthermore, various sports activities, games and lucky draws were conducted to further enliven the day.
