HER Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, yesterday graced a Chinese New Year (CNY) open house hosted by the Embassy of China in Brunei Darussalam.
Held at the Chinese Am-bassador’s residence, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna was accompanied by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz were greeted upon arrival by Yang Jian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam as well as senior officials of the embassy and Datin Paduka Tan Bee Yong, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Also present were various Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from different ministries.
In an interview with Yang Jian, she highlighted that this year marks the Golden Jubilee anniversary of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s accession to the throne and that in the past 50 years, Brunei Darussalam has attained tremendous prosperity in economy, development as well as peace.
After staying in Brunei for over two years, the Chinese ambassador said that she has witnessed a big push by the Government of His Majesty in diversifying the country’s economy which has seen a number of fruitful achievements.
“I am happy to see the new bilateral cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and China through the Brunei-Guangxi Economic Corridor where there will be more investments coming to Brunei,” she added.
The Chinese ambassador also revealed that a working level group from Guangxi China will be paying a visit to Brunei this month.
She hopes that Brunei – China relations will further increase and the people of Brunei will continue to enjoy a prosperous economy and peace.
