THE Acting Minister of Religious Affairs conducted visits to three Haj course centres yesterday, to ensure the effectiveness of the sessions being carried out for pilgrims performing the Haj this year.
Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud yesterday stopped by the Pengiran Anak Puteri Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah Religious School in Berakas, the Lambak Kanan Religious School in Kampong Lambak Kanan and the Sungai Besar Religious School in Jalan Kota Batu.
The acting minister was accompanied by Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; and Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohamad, the Acting Managing Director of Haj Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
At one of the course centres, the visitors were welcomed by Hajah Jamaliah binti Haji Yassin, the Principal of the Pengiran Anak Puteri Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah Religious School.
During his interactions with the intending pilgrims, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti advised them to apply the knowledge imparted by the course teachers and supervisors to their full advantage.
He also reminded them to focus solely on their religious obligations and duties while in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, in order to obtain a ‘Haji Mabrur’ (accepted Haj).
In the meantime, Haji Abdullah told the media that the courses are especially designed to provide intending pilgrims with in-depth knowledge for the journey ahead.
Ten sessions are being conducted for the Haj Course 2017, from April 16 to May 21. The sessions are held on Fridays and Sundays at four designated locations in the Brunei-Muara District, two in the Belait District, and one each in the Tutong and Temburong Districts.
Intending pilgrims are being given the opportunity to interact with their respective course facilitators on various issues and concerns, in addition to receiving invaluable guidance for the pilgrimage.
Meanwhile, participants incapable of reciting the relevant verses for the Haj journey will be taught and given guidance on short Doa and Zikir.
