THE Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday held a Tedarus Al-Quran session at the Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque in Kampong Sengkarai, Tutong District.
The guest of honour was Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs.
The event began with mass Asar prayers led by Alimin bin Ismail, Imam of the Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque.
This was followed by a presentation of Zakat donations to 108 heads of family and 216 dependants by the guest of honour in his capacity as the President of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB).
The Tedarus session opened with a recitation of Surah Al-An’am by Ustaz Haji Mustakim bin Sariyun, an academic member of the Mahad Islam Brunei, with a translation presented by Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak.
The session concluded with recitations of the Tahlil and Doa Arwah led by Haji Deli bin Haji Raya, Imam of the Mosque, followed by a recitation of Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan and Brunei Darussalam.
