THE Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) yesterday held a Tedarus, Khatam Al-Quran and Tahlil ceremony to enliven the celebration of the holy month of Ramadhan.
The event took place at the Yayasan Complex building in the capital.
Present to grace the ceremony was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, Chairman of the Yayasan Committee of Governors.
The event began with the recitation of 30 Juzuks of the Al-Quran by lecturers and students of the Institute Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB) followed by the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony led by Mohd Hashim bin Haji Abdullah, a lecturer at ITQSHHB, and the Tahlil ceremony.
It then continued with the recitation of Doa Khatam and Tahlil by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, the Chief Syar’ie Judge.

The ceremony then saw a mass Maghrib prayer participated by His Royal Highness.
Also present were Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs; Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors; Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports; Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, the Minister of Health; Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti; Haji Brahim bin Haji Ismail, Managing Director of Yayasan; as well as Committee of Governors and Yayasan board members, board members of the Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans, Yayasan officers and staff and teachers from the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School.
