Senior officials attend Khatam, Zikir event

THE annual Khatam Al-Quran and a Zikir ceremony was held at the Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan last night in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan 1438H/2017.

The ceremony, overseen by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Ratna Wijaya Brigadier General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Hasnan bin Pengiran Ahmad was attended by Cabinet Ministers and senior government officials.

It began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by YB Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal, a Legislative Council member.

The recitation of Surah Adh-Dhuha was then carried out by Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs.

This was followed by the mass recitation of Takhtim and Tahlil. The Doa Khatam was then recited by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, Chief Syar’ie Judge.

The event proceeded with a Zikir ceremony to conclude the religious event, with Pehin-Pehin Khatib leading the recitation of Zikir. It began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran bin Haji Kunchang.
