FITNESS Zone is gearing up for its second charity run ‘She Runs’ next weekend on May 15.
The final preparations for the event were the handing over of race kit collection and briefing of volunteers at the Fitness Club’s branch in Kiulap.
Present at the briefing were Aaron Goh, Co-Event Manager and founder of Armtrix Enterprise; Salwa Mustapha and Anisahatiajar Saini from She Runs title sponsor BMW QAF Auto; Louis Loo from Business Development Management of Plus Magazine Brunei, and volunteers for the upcoming event.
Aaron Goh presented the race kits to the Operations Manager of She Runs, Rachael Lee, who received them on behalf of the fitness club.
She Runs participants can proceed to the Fitness Zone branch in Kiulap from May 10-13 to pick up their race kits from 3pm to 9pm.
Participants are advised to bring along their official She Runs payment receipt, together with their donation card to collect their kit and to claim the goody bags from The Body Shop for their first 200 payees indicated on their receipt.
In a statement to the press, Fitness Zone’s Managing Director Wu Chun, said, “We have never expected that the turnout would be this good. The response from women community in Brunei for She Runs is overwhelming. We want to extend our many thanks towards the volunteers who came from our partners and sponsors for wilfully taking some hours from their busy life to take part in our cause.”
With 2,000 participants, this year’s charity run aims to raise funds for two non-government organisations – the Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA) which supports children diagnosed with cancer and their families while they undergo treatment, and the Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam (SOBD).
