A WIDE selection of readymade Hari Raya cakes and goodies are being sold as part of the ‘Jualan Kuih-Muih Aidilfitri 2017’ at the Youth Centre in the capital.

The annual event – organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports – was officially launched by Legislative Council member YB Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari.

The food sale provides the Youth Centre’s cooking class programme participants the chance to showcase their cooking skills and make some money, and at the same time, encourage other youths to join the cooking programme and get involved in entrepreneurship.

YB Khairunnisa toured the booths and mingled with the youth vendors at the sale.

Public response to the sale has been encouraging – as with previous years, according to the event organiser.

Others involved in the sale include members from the Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam (CWBD), Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Youth Development Centre and Alumni Programme, as well as former inmates offering items such as furniture.

The sale runs until June 24.
