NINETY people comprising orphans, senior citizens, single mothers and special needs indi-viduals – from Kampong Kilanas and Kampong Jangsak received gifts and Zakat funds during a ceremony held yesterday by the TM Majeed Supermarket of Kampong Kilanas.
The guest of honour was Haji Mohd Rais bin Sabtu, the Village Head of Kampong Kilanas.
Also present was Haji TM Badrudeen bin Mohd Ismail, the founder and Director of TM Majeed Supermarket.
The ceremony commenced with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a Doa Selamat, followed with a speech by the guest of honour.
Haji Mohd Rais and Haji TM Badrudeen presented the donations to the recipients.
Each recipient was given $70 worth of items for the upcoming Hari Raya festivities, such as rice, cooking oil, a carton of drinks, instant noodles and bread.
