QAF (B) Sdn Bhd got off to an ideal start in the Inter Company Netball Tournament after registering two victories in three games at the Public Works Department Sports Complex on Saturday night.
QAF showed spirits of a fightback after stuttering to an 8-5 defeat to Telbru in their opening match after pulling off a two-game winning sequence to stay in contention of advancing into the next round.
The netball team survived a minor scare against the equally determined CIBFM/ AMBD but closed out the match with an 8-6 victory in the second game.
Both sides had a shaky start after missing a series of opportunities before CIBFM/ AMBD inspired by the solid performance of their goal attacker came from behind to lead twice 5-4 and 6-5.
However, QAF overcame their nervy start with assured finishing in the final two minutes to turn the game on its head for the much-needed win.
Buoyed by their first points of the tournament, QAF continued their fine form with an emphatic 19-1 victory over Labour Department in the final group game of the night.
Baiduri Bank is fast emerging as early pacesetters after two emphatic victories with a 17-1 thumping over sorry Royal Brunei Catering and a 15-3 win over Labour Department.
Meanwhile in Group ‘A’, defending champions B.T Forwarding began their title defence with two straight wins in an 8-5 win over Royal Brunei Airlines and a 15-3 thumping over Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd.
