A RECEPTION ceremony to welcome the Republic of Korea delegation comprising 10 youths was held yesterday at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The delegation is in the country from May 10-19 to participate in the 5th Bilateral Youth Exchange Programme 2016.
Leading the delegates was Park Jin Young, an officer from the Ministry of Gender, Equality and Family, Republic of Korea.
The reception ceremony was attended by Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Also present was Cho Won-myung, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam.
The Bilateral Youth Exchange Programme is the result of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Brunei Darussalam and Republic of Korea in 2009.
It is hoped that the MoU will assist and strengthen bilateral relations between both countries as well as enhance understanding and cooperation through the participation of locals and Korean youth.
Both countries believe that the youth would obtain benefits by extending their knowledge on the local culture, socio-economy and politics.
