IN COMMEMORATION of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 50 extraordinary years on the throne, Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) has produced a unique book titled ‘The People’s Sultan: Leading A Legacy’.
“The People’s Sultan: Leading A Legacy was a labour of love, and all the work was done in Brunei Darussalam, showcasing the true capability of Bruneian talent at its very best,” said Dr Ceri M Powell, Managing Director of BSP.
The book chronicles His Majesty through the years and highlights the many achievements of the monarch, set against the backdrop of the growth of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company.
It illustrates His Majesty’s impactful leadership, ruling the country justly while assuming many other roles; the Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Minister of Finance, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
It depicts His Majesty’s many passions, as a sportsman, pilot and adventurer, and as the son, the brother, the husband and the father. The book portrays the love and care that His Majesty extends to the Rakyat.
The photographs in the pictorial book were sourced from many different archives and personal collections from around the globe.
The book is part of BSP’s social investment contribution to the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne and is being marketed and sold by Brunei Press Sdn Bhd.
A Special Edition (limited and serialised from 1001 to 2000) is available for collectors and bibliophiles on a pre-order basis at BND250 each. Those who wish to own a copy of The People’s Sultan: Leading A Legacy have the option of either the non-serialised Special Edition (BND150) or the Standard Edition (BND50), also.
Proceeds from sales will be donated, providing buyers with the opportunity to contribute to charity and gain the continuous shower of blessings.
