THE Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam (CWBD) recently organised a Doa Kesyukuran and mass Asar prayer at the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Madang, to mark the birthday of Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam.
The religious event was attended by Pengiran Datin Paduka Hajah Mariam binti Pengiran Haji Matarsat, the Vice-President I of the CWBD and Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohammad Ali, the Vice-President II.
Around 260 members of the CWBD comprising several women’s associations across the country and their vice-presidents attended the event.
The mass prayer session began with the recitation of the Surah Yaasiin and Doa Tahlil by Pengiran Hajah Rakiah binti Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, the Head of the Religious Section at the CWBD.
The mass prayers and the Doa ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’ were led by Imam Nuzli bin Haji Jumat.
Meanwhile, the Welfare Body of Police’s Wives and Families (Pekerti) also held a mass prayer session, along with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Kesyukuran to mark the birthday of Her Majesty.
The religious event was held at the Rumah Aman in the Police Headquarters and was attended by Datin Hajah Kamariah binti Haji Abdul Hamid, the spouse of the Royal Brunei Police Force Commissioner and the Chairwoman of PEKERTI.
Also in attendance were members of the executive committee of PEKERTI and members from its five branches.
