HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday morning held a meeting with Tran Dai Quang, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The meeting was held at Da Nang Administrative Office.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was welcomed on arrival at the Da Nang Administrative Office by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
During the meeting, His Majesty and Tran Dai Quang exchanged views on regional and international matters of mutual concern and also discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Brunei Darussalam and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam established diplomatic relations in 1992, and for the past 25 years the two countries have enjoyed very good cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and energy.
Also present during the meeting were Dao Viet Trung, Chairman of the Presidential Office and Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Also in attendance were Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance II; Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II; and Pengiran Haji Sahari bin Pengiran Haji Salleh, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
