THE Imarah Division, Mosque Affairs Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) held a campaign to draw new members of the Mosque Youth Group for the 2018-2019 session in the Belait District at Zainab Mosque, Lumut recently.
The guest of honour Haji Juffle bin Haji Mega, Head of Imarah Division, Mosque Affairs Department, MoRA presented certificates to the representatives of the Mosque Youth Group from across the Belait District.
Haji Yusli bin Haji Ashli, Head of the Youth Unit, Imarah Division, Mosque Affairs Department delivered a briefing.
Haji Haslan bin Haji Shahbudin, Mosque Affairs Officer, Belait District highlighted the importance of youth, who will be future leaders, as the irreplaceable asset of a country.
“To help instil a sense of purpose and Syumul among the youth, the need to be trained, especially in education that is closely related to the Islamic religion, is important to the development of the youth of the country,” he added. “One such way to achieve that was for the youth to participate in mosque activities such as mass prayers, reading the Al-Quran, and more.”
He also highlighted the important role of parents in the development of youths.
He expressed hope to see youths across the country to be more active in participating in mosque activities by registering for the Mosque Youth Group in their mosque.
Haji Juffle said the campaign is an important step towards achieving His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s vision of developing Brunei as a Zikir Nation.
The participants comprised representatives from Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, RPN Kg Pandan Mosque, Pekan Seria Mosque, Sg Teraban Mosque, STKRJ Lorong Tiga Selatan Mosque, Zainab Mosque, Sg Liang Mosque, Al-Mashhor Mosque, Kg Labi Mosque, and Kg Bukit Sawat Mosque.
