A CLEANUP campaign was organised recently by the Village Consultative Council (MPK) of the Landless Indigenous Citizens Housing Scheme (STKRJ) in Lorong Tiga Selatan, Seria, Belait District to help raise awareness on the importance of keeping the surrounding environment clean and green,
Around 15 members from the MPK STKRJ Lorong Tiga Selatan, Seria together with six members from the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) gathered to clean up the surrounding areas of the Lorong Tiga Selatan Mosque, as well as clearing overgrown grass and trees along the main road leading to STKRJ Lorong Tiga Selatan, Seria.
Present during the activity was Haji Saidin bin Haji Ibrahim, the Village Head of STKRJ Lorong Tiga Selatan, Seria.
“The cleanup campaign was organised by the MPK of STKRJ Lorong Tiga Selatan, Seria in collaboration with JASTRe as part of an initiative to help clean up the surroundings of the housing area and make it a more comfortable place to live in,” Haji Saidin said.
He added the campaign also aimed to raise awareness on the importance of keeping the surrounding area clean and free from trash.
Haji Saidin said, “We are in communication with various agencies to help provide a specially designated area to properly dispose trash and unwanted items somewhere near the residential area.”
