AN AUSTRALIAN Education Information Day was held for students yesterday, at The Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.
“As a leading global education powerhouse, with some of the world’s best facilities and educators, Australia provides local and international students with a range of quality study options,” said Nicola Rosenblum, the Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam.
In her welcoming remarks, Rosenblum said that Australian institutions rank among the world’s best, particularly in the fields of engineering and technology; medicine; environmental science; and accounting and finance.
On hand to offer guidance regarding courses, programmes and enrolments were representatives from the Australian National University, Deakin University, James Cook University, Monash University, Swinburne University, the University of Adelaide, the University of Sydney, The University of Western Australia and the Australian-International Institute of Workplace Training.
The event also featured presentations on sitting for the IELTS English test, and applying for the Australian Government’s Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships.
Event organiser Josie Abdullah, from the Australian Trade and Investment Commissions, said that discovering Australian education can make a difference to the students future, coupled with the fact that Australia boasts over 22,000 courses to choose from across 1,100 institutions.
